The following pages are a record of the transformation of a high 15-second ACR (American Club Racer), into a street driven low 13-second sleeper.

History of the "Project"
The initial beginnings of the turbo Neon project was that we had aspirations to turbocharge the 2.0L DOHC motor that was in the GT Neon with an HRC turbo system. First off I only had half the funds at the time that so rather then buy the turbo system I opted to buy some tools from Sears and learn how to work on my Neon first before I tried anything that was as difficult as a turbo system. Fast forward a year in time: Dennis had been messing around with the idea of doing a 2.4L DOHC turbo motor rather then the 2.0L DOHC that the car came with but I needed some convincing that it was a good idea. The basic idea for the whole thing all came from some research he had been doing of a project that a guy did on his Neon of a 2.4L swap. After some convincing Dennis talked me into doing the 2.4L Turbo project. Fast Forward a little more: Dennis had found a 2.4L motor at a salvage yard for me but he didn't want to buy it unless I was there. So he managed to drag me out there on a relatively brisk day in October to find that motor. We came up to a Stratus that had a severe front-end collision on the front passenger side of the car. After further inspection we found out it had a fire that was caused by the power steering reservoir getting smashed when the engine shifted causing the power steering fluid to spray onto the hot exhaust manifold. It was mostly a superficial fire because it burned off all of the plastic pieces, belts, hoses, and wiring harness. After inspecting the crank to make sure it still turned (which it did) we bought it for $125 as per the Dennis Discount (They wanted to sell it to me for $350) and the rest was history..........
